Milan have reportedly held talks with Walter Sabatini about the former Roma and Inter man becoming their next sporting director.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan representatives met Sabatini in London, in a sign that the Rossoneri are preparing to dismiss Massimiliano Mirabelli at the end of the season.

The 62-year-old only left arch-rivals Inter last month, having been employed as a technical coordinator by their owners Suning Group.

The newspaper adds Napoli’s Cristiano Giuntoli is also in the running, with the Diavolo’s interest going back ‘as early as last summer’.

Elsewhere, Barcelona advisor Ariedo Braida – who was Milan’s general manager for 27 years until his departure in 2013 – and Monaco’s Michael Emenalo would be in the background.
