Roma came back from 4-1 down to beat Barcelona 3-0 and set up their semi-final with Liverpool, and the Giallorossi will have to pull off a similar feat for a place in Kiev, having lost 5-2 in the first leg at Anfield.

“We’re how we were against Barcelona, although I’d say it was harder against Barcelona,” he told Onda Cero.

“Barcelona are similar or better than Liverpool so why can’t we? We have to take the chances that fall our way.

“Ninety minutes at the Olimpico are very long, so hopefully we can repeat what we did against Barca.

“We were facing a very complicated team, we knew we couldn’t mess up and and that we had to avoid being caught on the break.

“We didn’t do well in transitions or in terms of defensive vigilance. When you concede five goals, it means you’ve done many things wrong.”
