Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin admits “I might leave” because “I want to test myself in the Champions League”.
The Italian international has spent his entire career with the Grifone, save for loan spells at Padova and Pescara, but may move on this summer.
“I won’t hide it, at 25 I want to test myself in the Champions League,” Perin told reporters after winning the Gentleman Award 2018.
“Above all I want to understand if I deserve to play on those kind of stages. If I had the opportunity I would seriously think about it.
“I might leave, but I might also stay.”
Davide Ballardini still hasn’t been confirmed as Coach for next season, despite lifting Genoa out of the relegation battle.
“Ballardini has to be reconfirmed, but it’s up to the President to choose. He’s performed a miracle, it would be crazy not to confirm him.”
