The Nerazzurri are only two points behind Lazio in the battle for a Champions League spot and want to pile the pressure on before the head-to-head showdown next weekend.

“Inter are a great team and I had Luciano Spalletti as my Coach, so I know what he can do,” declared Iachini in a Press conference.

“Sassuolo must play their game and if Inter are stronger, they’ll have to prove that on the pitch.

“I heard talk of Inter trying to bolster their goal difference against us and I will tell you that is very annoying. It’s disrespectful, we are talking about professionals and men here, so win or lose is one thing, but a lack of respect is another.

“It goes without saying that Inter are the favourites to win and certainly have a better overall squad, but they still need to earn every point and respect their opponents.”

Sassuolo actually beat Inter 1-0 at the Mapei Stadium earlier this season with a goal from Diego Falcinelli, while Mauro Icardi saw his penalty saved by Andrea Consigli.

“It’ll be more difficult than in December, because Inter are now more of a team, brought in different players and we’re missing quite a few elements.

“I gave Icardi his Serie A debut at Sampdoria, so it’s always nice to see him again, just as it will be for Eder.”
