The Friulani are in dire straits and sit just one point clear of the relegation zone with two games to go, including this trip to already-relegated Hellas Verona.

“If we do things right, we’ll get the points that we need,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“On paper, we have everything it takes to secure safety, but with the opposition you never know what could happen. We’re going to Verona looking for the victory.

“We certainly could’ve done better, because 20 defeats in 36 rounds are a lot. We’ve worked on the team psychologically as well as physically and tactically, we are at the end of the season and hopefully things will change.

“The most important thing will be playing with character. Never mind champagne football right now, we need points and that’s it. You get results with a strong defence and we have to keep a clean sheet.”

The situation hasn’t entirely improved since Tudor took over from sacked Massimo Oddo as Udinese’s third Coach of the campaign.

They have two points from their last 14 games and were torn to shreds by Inter last week in a 4-0 drubbing.

Seko Fofana was sent off in that match and is therefore suspended, with Gabriele Angella injured.

“I hope Rodrigo De Paul can have a great performance tomorrow, as he can find space between the lines and gives more quality to the side.

“It’s not about quality, though, but character, especially on set plays. Against Benevento there were seven of us defending against three of them on corners and we still conceded.”

Tudor was asked how the Udinese players will shake off the embarrassment of the heavy defeat to Inter, but his answer was not reassuring.

“They’re accustomed to losing by now.”

Udinese squad for Verona: Bizzarri, Borsellini, Scuffet; Ali Adnan, Danilo, Nuytinck, Pezzella, Samir, Stryger-Larsen, Widmer, Zampano; Balic, Barak, Behrami, De Paul, Hallfredsson, Ingelsson, Jankto, Pontisso; Lasagna, Maxi Lopez, Perica
