“Some tried to play dirty and we saw last night how that ended up,” director of sport Tare told Mediaset Premium.

He was asked if he was referring to the news that De Vrij has already signed for Inter, as his contract with Lazio expires on June 30.

“Giving news like that 10 days from the end of the season, a week before a head-to-head, is avoidable. It could’ve been done at the end of the season or even weeks ago.

“I don’t know if it was the club, an agent or the papers, but it is something I would not have done. This lad gave us so much over the years and deserves to leave with respect and the applause of the fans.

“He won a great deal over four years and deserves better. We have never doubted his professionalism or his attitude.

“This is the final match point and we absolutely want to win this game to cap off a fantastic season.

“We need concentration and a great victory, as the team deserves it.”
