Simone Inzaghi concedes Lazio “missed an opportunity” with their draw at Crotone, but “it was destiny” they’d gamble it all against Inter.

The 2-2 draw at the Stadio Scida means that the Aquile will qualify for the Champions League as long as they don’t lose the last game of the season against Inter.

A victory for the Nerazzurri would put them level on points, but in front on head-to-head record.

A victory for the Nerazzurri would put them level on points, but in front on head-to-head record.

“Without doubt, it’s a missed opportunity,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“It was the first of two match point situations, we knew it wouldn’t be easy, but we conceded two avoidable goals. There’s more suffering to be done and we’ll gamble it all in our stadium.

“We play to win, but naturally with the option of a draw it leaves us slightly calmer than Inter. On the other hand, that could be a disadvantage psychologically. It was destiny, we had to fight it out at the end.”

Ciro Immobile, Marco Parolo, Luis Alberto and Jordan Lukaku were all out today and it’s a race against time to be ready for the Inter showdown.

“We had so many chances to win it with Felipe Caicedo and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. It’s a fundamental match now, a draw does little to help either Lazio or Crotone, so we need another result to earn our place in the Champions League.”
