Lucas Biglia will reportedly be fit for Argentina’s World Cup campaign, despite risking another back injury during Milan’s 1-1 draw with Atalanta.
Biglia came off worse for wear after a clash with Argentina teammate Alejandro Gomez, prompting fears he had aggravated the vertebrae he had previously fractured.
However, TyC Sports claims scan showed the problem would not keep him out of the Russian showpiece and consequently ‘will be in Jorge Sampaoli’s 23-man squad’ on June 4.
Furthermore, Gomez quickly apologised for his actions, telling La Nacion he had ‘no intention’ of hurting his compatriot.
Argentina have been drawn in Group D for the World Cup, alongside Nigeria, Iceland and Croatia.
Nonetheless, it is unlikely that the 32-year-old will turn out for Milan in their final game of the season against Fiorentina on Saturday.
