The tactician has been widely praised for his work with the Partenopei, revolutionising their playing style and bringing exciting, attacking football.

However, despite amassing 88 points already this season, Juventus have won the Scudetto for a sevenths season in a row and some feel that a cycle has come to an end.

According to this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport, the much anticipated meeting between Sarri and President Aurelio De Laurentiis will take place tomorrow.

The Coach is asking for €4m per season, while the offer on the table is €3.5m, a gap which should not be difficult to bridge.

That’s not the issue though, Gazzetta reports, as Sarri wants guarantees on high-level reinforcements to his squad.

It could be this which sees the relationship end, as De Laurentiis has already said “If Sarri asks me to buy him Sadio Mané then it’s pointless discussing”.

Carlo Ancelotti has been linked with the job in recent days, and Corriere dello Sport says contacts are continuing.

While De Laurentiis is still waiting for Sarri, he is confident that he can convince Carletto to take the job.

The President wants a Coach who is more in line with the English-style manager, someone with whom he and sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli can share transfer decisions.

Ancelotti has already given his input, and would sanction the sales of Jorginho and Dries Mertens to fund the summer transfer campaign.

Kalidou Koulibaly and Lorenzo Insigne would be the foundation for his Napoli side, but the two parties still have to come to an agreement on salary.

It’s thought Ancelotti is willing to take a reduced salary compared to what he could earn elsewhere, for a one-year deal with an option for a second.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are also following the former Milan boss though, and could offer him a far higher salary.
