Inter director Piero Ausilio believes the Champions League is “within reach” ahead of their showdown with Lazio.

The Nerazzurri are three points behind, but if they won at the Olimpico on Sunday by whatever scoreline, they will take fourth place due to a superior head-to-head record.

That’s because they drew 0-0 at San Siro in the reverse fixture.

“We are all fired up and have this immense enthusiasm,” Ausilio told Inter TV.

“When I saw the fixture list at the start of the season, I thought this trip to Lazio would be the biggest game, but I didn’t think it was going to be this decisive between us and Lazio.

“That’s the great thing about football, playing a Cup Final, a one-off clash with only one result available and one chance of going into the Champions League after a few years away.

“It is there, within reach, and we have a side that is strong, motivated and fired up. We’ll do everything to give this Champions League dream to our fans.”
