Giampaolo was initially put forward as the favourite to replace Maurizio Sarri at Napoli, while Torreira had been heavily linked with possibly following the 50-year-old to the San Paolo.
“Giampaolo? He’ll certainly stay,” Ferrero told Il Secolo XIX.

“Giampaolo? He’ll certainly stay,” Ferrero told Il Secolo XIX.
“I’ve always said that. After that, he has a contract. Of course we’ll talk about the future next week, once the season finishes. On my part, there’s no doubt.
“Players leaving? It’s not like keeping horses in a stable. I’m not a stable boy: I think Torreira will leave, it’s time for him to fly away, but everyone else will stay.
“Sampdoria are one of the best clubs for raising youngsters, but once they grow, we sell them to big teams in England and Germany, have you noticed?”
