Domenico Criscito has signed “an eight-year contract with Genoa” and had been offered a deal by Inter, revealed his agent.

The defender left Zenit St Petersburg for a return to Marassi, having left seven years ago.

“Criscito strongly wanted to come to Genoa. There was interest from very important clubs, even Luciano Spalletti wanted him at Inter,” agent Claudio Pasqualin told Radio Sportiva.

“Criscito strongly wanted to come to Genoa. There was interest from very important clubs, even Luciano Spalletti wanted him at Inter,” agent Claudio Pasqualin told Radio Sportiva.

“He signed an eight-year contract: five as a player and three as a director. His decision was determined and direct. We’ll see him in the Rossoblu jersey next year and, hopefully, also for the Nazionale.”

Criscito’s chances of getting back into the Italy squad are boosted by the appointment of Roberto Mancini, who also left Zenit this week.
