The Romania international dislocated his left shoulder several times, including during a match situation.
He had the operation at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome this morning and it lasted approximately 60 minutes.
A statement from Napoli confirmed Chiriches will have to wear a brace for 30 days, then begin rehabilitation.
