“I am happy to be at San Siro, to see these fans again who were so wonderful with me,” Dida told Milan TV.

Donnarumma was jeered during the warm-up, having received a lot of criticism for recent performances against Juventus and Atalanta.

“We goalkeepers know that we experience pressure every time we step on to the field. With the errors Donnarumma made, I hope he learned something, as I know that I always did.

“He has already proved that he’s a great goalkeeper and now can become even stronger. The advice I give him is to stay calm.”

Gianluigi Buffon played his final match in a Juventus jersey on Saturday, but is considering a move abroad.

“It was emotional seeing Buffon wave goodbye to Juventus yesterday. He is a legend and has always proved it, so I hope he can continue playing.

“I remember in the Champions League Final in Manchester, we had a chat before the penalties and wished each other luck. Fortunately, we won!”
