Emerson Palmieri and Claudio Marchisio have officially pulled out of Italy’s friendlies against Saudi Arabia, France and Netherlands.

A statement on the FIGC’s official website confirmed Emerson and Marchisio were not in a position to represent Italy after consultations with Chelsea and Juventus respectively.

Consequently, the left-back and midfielder have returned to their clubs, where they will continue receiving treatment for their injuries.
