According to CalcioNapoli24, Sarri was given a deadline of Friday to tell Zenit if he would accept their offer, which included paying the €8m release clause in his contract.

However, the report states that he has already given his formal response and rejected the move.

Sarri is yet to decide whether he’ll remain at Napoli, despite problems with President Aurelio De Laurentiis, or walk away, in which case Chelsea is the only remaining viable option.

The Coach did float another alternative this week, noting in his Press conference: “I could always take a year off.”

There are growing reports in the Corriere dello Sport that Carlo Ancelotti has agreed terms with Napoli, so now it all depends on whether Sarri decides to stay.
