Domenico Criscito claims ‘Inter offered me twice as much’ as Genoa and that Juventus target Mattia Perin ‘is one of the best goalkeepers in the world’.
Criscito completed a return to Genoa from Zenit St Petersburg last week, although the defender may not be joined back at Marassi by Perin, who is being heavily linked with Juve.
“Genoa is a life choice for me,” he told Il Secolo XIX.

“Genoa is a life choice for me,” he told Il Secolo XIX.
“Inter offered me twice as much as I’ll earn here, Zenit more than double, but when I spoke to the President, it was all done in 10 minutes.
“I feel at home here, and I’ve also found the national team again. On Sunday at the Ferraris, well… I had no doubts, I expected such a welcome.
“I know what the Genoa fans are capable of. It was intense, beautiful and moving. Going back is a life choice, one that goes beyond football.
“It’s certainly not a choice motivated by money, I had much better offers from abroad, but I think I did something nice, going back to the city and team I love, where I debuted at 16 and have already played over 170 times.
“I really wanted it, along with my family. I’m 31 years old and I’ve played over 70 matches between the Champions League and Europa League.
“I come back more mature, to lend a hand, be a point of reference and explain to the new lads what it means to wear the Genoa shirt.
“Perin? I hope Mattia stays because he’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world. I saw him when he was very young and I know how good he is.
“However, I also understand his needs and desire to play in the Champions League.”
