Benatia played under Garcia at Roma during the 2013-14 campaign and has been linked with making way for Atletico Madrid’s Diego Godin, while Buffon could join the Algerian in Ligue 1 with Paris Saint-Germain.

“I like Rudi Garcia, but I still have two years left on my contract,” he told RMC Sport.

“Right now, my priority is the World Cup. After that, we’ll see what's best for Juventus and I.

“Buffon? I’m sad, it was hard to see his locker empty. I adore Gigi. Beyond the player, his departure leaves a huge void.

“It’s difficult to imagine Juventus without him because he’s more than a goalkeeper. For me, he was like an older brother.

“I’m not surprised by the rumours about PSG: what distinguishes Buffon is his mentality, that he’s still hungry for victories.

“As long as he has this desire, there’s no reason for him to stop playing. I don’t see another goalkeeper of his quality available for nothing.

“PSG already have a great goalkeeper in Areola, but Buffon would be a huge coup.”
