Chelsea have chosen Maurizio Sarri as their next Coach, but Napoli are still holding out for his €8m release clause.
The tactician has already been replaced by Carlo Ancelotti, but his contract with the Partenopei hasn’t been rescinded.
There’s an €8m release clause in his deal with Napoli, and the Campanian club want Chelsea to pay that.
According to this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport, the English side want to lower the cost by offering a discount on David Luiz.
Sarri earns around €1.4m per season, so President Aurelio De Laurentiis could keep him under contract for the next year.
However, that isn’t at all likely as Chelsea have already agreed on a two-year contract with an option for a third.
It’s therefore simply a question of finding a deal with the Neapolitans, as well as with current boss Antonio Conte who will need to agree a compensation package.
