West Ham United have set their sights on Genoa defender Armando Izzo, claim Sky Sports UK, along with Lazio and Torino.

The 26-year-old centre-back can also play at right-back and came up through the youth academy of hometown club Napoli.

He had spells at Triestina and Avellino before moving to Genoa in 2014.

This season, Izzo only made 16 Serie A appearances, partly due to a knee injury.

The other reason he hasn’t played much is he was sitting out a six-month ban as part of a match-fixing enquiry involving the Neapolitan Mafia, the Camorra.

It was originally an 18-month ban imposed in April 2017, reduced to six months in May.

Izzo was eventually cleared in September and the ban annulled.

West Ham face competition, as Lazio and Torino have also been linked with the defender.
