Arsenal set to sign Lichtsteiner

Arsenal are reportedly close to signing Juventus full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Arsenal are ‘a step away’ from agreeing a one-year contract with Lichtsteiner as talks enter an ‘advanced’ stage.

The broadcaster adds new Gunners boss Unai Emery tried to bring the Swiss to Paris Saint-Germain during his two-year spell in charge of the French giants.

The 34-year-old joined the Bianconeri from Lazio in 2011 and made 259 appearances in Turin, winning seven straight Scudetti and five Coppa Italia, as well as reaching two Champions League Finals.
