Coach Roberto Mancini made radical changes to the side that beat Saudi Arabia 2-1 on Monday and it is the youngest starting XI seen in decades.

He has thrown in Atalanta defender Caldara, who has already signed for Juventus, for his Azzurri debut just weeks after he turned 24.

Also included are Mandragora, the 20-year-old creative midfielder owned by Juventus, but who spent the last two seasons on loan at Crotone.

Sassuolo talent Berardi finally gets his Nazionale bow at the age of 23, having been an Under-21 stalwart and Serie A regular, but it comes after what was objectively his worst season.

Federico Chiesa of Fiorentina is in attack, aged just 20, while Lorenzo Pellegrini will turn 22 later this month.

Although Inter full-back Danilo D’Ambrosio is 29, this is only his second senior Italy cap after a very brief substitute appearance in March 2017.
