Uruguay international Diego Laxalt “intends to leave Genoa this summer,” said his agent, but denied negotiations with Lazio.

The 25-year-old left-sided winger has been on the Genoa books since January 2015, but spent practically his entire career in Italy with Inter, Bologna and Empoli.

“The player is thinking only about the World Cup right now, but we have already informed the club that Diego intends to leave Genoa this summer,” agent Ariel Krasouski told Lalaziosiamonoi.it.

“He has grown to such a degree that he is now targeting a top club both on a sporting and economic level.”

There were reports of negotiations with Lazio, although these seem to be premature.

“Nobody from Lazio has spoken to me or other intermediaries. I don’t know if Genoa are talking to Lazio, but for the moment as far as I am concerned it remains transfer gossip.

“Having said that, Lazio would certainly be a club we’d appreciate, as they are an important team and he’d have the chance to play regularly.”
