“I think the deal can be done in the next few days,” Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis said of Jorginho talks with Manchester City.
The patron has already turned down an offer worth €40 plus €5m in bonuses.
It’s reported the latest proposal is €47m plus €6m in bonuses, edging closer to the €60m asking price.
“I think the deal can be done in the next few days,” De Laurentiis told Sun Sport.
“Everything is possible as we have a good relationship with Manchester City and their people but we must negotiate.
“We are still not in agreement over the price for the player, but we’ll be near to the conclusion as they made an effort in the last few days.”
Agent Joao Santos is also expected in Manchester tomorrow for advanced negotiations to conclude the transfer.
The representative had said publicly yesterday that Jorginho would “not be happy” if the move didn’t go through.
“The player is waiting for Napoli’s decision. He has another two years on his contract and we will not renew it,” Santos told CalcioNapoli24.
“Jorginho is a professional, but this is the opportunity of a lifetime for him and his family. If he doesn’t go to Manchester City, he won’t be very happy.”
