Reports in the UK suggest Liverpool have admitted defeat in their pursuit of Roma goalkeeper Alisson.

The Reds have been heavily linked with the Brazilian, who confirmed this weekend that he and the club are “working on” some options.

That was widely taken to mean Liverpool and Real Madrid, but Sky Sports News is now reporting that the English side are unlikely to submit an official bid.

The Reds have been heavily linked with the Brazilian, who confirmed this weekend that he and the club are “working on” some options.

That was widely taken to mean Liverpool and Real Madrid, but Sky Sports News is now reporting that the English side are unlikely to submit an official bid.

They have been put off by the asking price, with the capital club said to be asking for at least €70m.

Meanwhile, Sky in Italy believes that Chelsea could make an offer for Alisson if they sell Thibaut Courtois and can’t get Jan Oblak.

However, the Giallorossi will only consider bids above €100m according to the Italian outlet.
