Di Francesco extended his Roma contract until 2020 on Monday after a season that yielded a third-place finish in Serie A and the Champions League semi-finals.
“I felt at home when I came here last summer and I’ve taken up residency here,” he told Roma TV.

“There’s desire on the club’s part for us to grow together. We had an extraordinary season with some little regrets for not having reached the Champions League Final.
“It was a very good Champions League, but we have to start over in the League and do better than we did last year. There must be a desire to improve each day.
“Retreat at Trigoria? We’ve made this decision so all our tools are available, plus we’ll then leave for our tour.
“I hear from director Monchi every day. We’re trying to build a team who are competitive in every aspect.
“However, it seems too early to talk about players because the transfer market always has strange dynamics.”
