Lazio are in negotiations with Atalanta for Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez, having already agreed terms with the Argentina international.
According to several sources, including Sky Sport Italia, the offer on the table is currently €10m, whereas Atalanta are holding out for €15m.
It is likely they will eventually meet in the middle and conclude a deal worth €12-13m.
Papu and his agent Giuseppe Riso were at lunch with Atalanta striker Andrea Petagna – also linked with Lazio – today in Milan.
Gomez is now 30 years old, but has discovered a new lease of life in Bergamo under Coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
This season he scored nine goals with 14 assists in all competition, including an impressive Europa League run.
He joined Atalanta in 2014 from Metalist Kharkiv and spent most of his career in Italy.
