Sampdoria goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano has reportedly signed a three-year contract with Sinisa Mihajlovic’s Sporting CP.
Calciomercato.it claims Viviano put pen to paper on Thursday evening after his medical, with only official confirmation of his €2m transfer missing.
The 32-year-old worked under Mihajlovic at Samp during the 2014-15 campaign and is set to replace Rui Patricio, who had been heavily linked with Napoli but ended up joining Wolverhampton Wanderers.
In turn, former Fiorentina shot-stopper Marco Sportiello is expected to become the Blucerchiati’s new No 1.
Sporting are desperate for new additions after an attack at their training ground prompted several members of their squad to terminate their contracts.
