“He is so strong and has grown a great deal during his time in Italy, but the fact remains he can get even stronger,” Lazio captain Parolo told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’ll be difficult to keep hold of him, but if he does stay at Lazio, then I will be very happy.”

There have also been reports of top scorer Immobile pledging to join Milan, but Parolo has a plan.

“He can’t abandon me, he’s my shoulder to lean on, my partner in crime. I don’t think he’ll leave. Otherwise I’ll kidnap him and bring him back home, lock him in there!”

Meanwhile, RB Salzburg winger Valon Berisha had his medical today ahead of a €7.5m transfer to Lazio.

“He is a versatile player who can work in many different roles. He’s a great signing and can give us a hand.”
