Lucas ‘El Pata’ Castro has completed his transfer from Chievo to Cagliari for €6.5m. “They really wanted me here.”
The versatile midfielder, who can also play wide in an attacking trident, had his medical today in Rome.
He then put pen to paper on a contract until June 2021.
“I am happy that I’m here. The negotiations weren’t easy, but they really wanted me here and that’s the most important thing,” the Argentine told Sky Sport Italia.
Castro has been in Italy since 2012 for Catania, then joined Chievo three years later.
He leaves the Flying Donkeys after 95 games, in which he scored 12 goals and provided 11 assists.
It’s a reunion with former Chievo Coach Rolando Maran, who took over the Cagliari job this summer.
