Serie A in World Cup Final

There are seven Serie A players participating in the World Cup Final between Croatia and France on Sunday.

This evening, Croatia beat England 2-1 in extra time to enter their first ever World Cup Final, as it was only their second semi-final after 1998.

Serie A figures were decisive, as Inter winger Ivan Perisic scored the equaliser and then nodded on a loose ball for Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic to finish it off.

Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, Fiorentina’s Milan Badelj, Marko Pjaca of Juventus and new Milan signing Ivan Strinic are also in the Croatia squad.

There would’ve been another, Milan forward Nikola Kalinic, but he was sent home after refusing to come off the bench in the opening game.

France have only one Serie A representative in the side, Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi.
