Kevin Strootman is glad Roma have done their transfer business early - “this year we can all work together right from the start”.
The Giallorossi have already completed the signings of players like Ante Coric, Justin Kluivert and Javier Pastore, among others, meaning Eusebio Di Francesco starts pre-season with the bulk of his squad in place.
“We’re happy to be here, we feel at home,” Strootman told Roma TV from Trigoria.
“Everything has been redone, the pitches are beautiful and we can work well here.
“It’s very important that we’re all here, last year we went to America right away and played some games without training together.
“This year though we can all work together right from the start.
“When a newcomer arrives it’s right to help him settle in, and this time another Dutchman like Kluivert has arrived.
“The new players stimulate the team, there are a lot of new signings and that’s important if we want to move forward.”
Strootman also had a laugh at the expense of Kostas Manolas, when asked if he was irritating in training matches.
“Not just in practice games - in the dressing room, during dinner, at breakfast… he only shuts up at lunch!
“He’s very important for us, he always wants to win. If he doesn’t win he’s always got an excuse, but he always gives everything.”
