Amin Younes is expected to report for Napoli’s pre-season training camp tomorrow, before beginning rehabilitation for a torn achilles tendon.
The German international signed for the Partenopei in January, but his transfer has proved to be a controversial one.
Ajax agreed to sell him in January, but the winger pulled out of the deal to be closer to his grandfather, who was ill.
After that though it appeared he was trying to get out of his contract altogether, despite repeated warnings that he’d signed a legally binding deal.
Later it became clear that he would turn up for pre-season, but it was expected Napoli would immediately sell Younes on.
However, having offered him to Genoa it emerged that he had an achilles injury, deterring any potential buyers.
Now Tuttosport is reporting that Younes will arrive at Val di Sole tomorrow to began the rehabilitation process with Napoli’s medical staff.
It’s not clear how long he’ll be out of action for, or indeed if he’ll ever play for the first team.
