Andrea Belotti scored five in Torino’s first pre-season friendly, a 14-0 victory. “Belotti is fired up mentally and physically,” said Coach Walter Mazzarri.
The Granata made their first appearance of the summer against local amateur side Bormiese and Il Gallo was the star of the show with five goals.
Iago Falque also found the net twice, along with two assists, while Afriyie Acquah and Karlo Butic had two apiece.
Sasa Lukic, Alex Berenguer and Erick Ferigra rounded out the scoreline in a 3-5-2 formation.
“I had some very good first impressions and we tried to do what we’ve been testing out in training during the last few days,” Coach Mazzarri told Torino Channel.
“It was a hard week, but nobody held back and I am very satisfied. I tried out Lukic and Soualiho Meite in roles that were new for them, because I wanted to see if they could attempt this in future.
“Iago Falque understood the movements to perform as a support striker straight away, while Belotti is fired up both mentally and physically, which can only be a good sign.”
