Former Milan player Keisuke Honda has joined up with Hollywood superstar Will Smith to launch a venture fund.
The Japanese international currently plays for Pachuca, after four seasons with the Rossoneri.
Today Nikkei Asian Review reveals that he and ‘Independence Day’ star Will Smith are aiming to raise around $100m from Japanese investors to use their personal find unlisted companies which will eventually be worth $1bn or more.
“I want to build bridges between Japanese investors and overseas businesses,” Honda told the outlet.
Honda and Smith are expected to personally interview some of the candidates.
The midfielder is not the first former Rossonero to move into the business world, as Mathieu Flamini formed GF Biochemicals, a company which hopes to eventually be able to substitute oil.
