Sevilla are preparing an offer for Sassuolo defender Gianmarco Ferrari, hoping to beat competition from Real Betis.
According to Sportitalia transfer guru Alfredo Pedullà, it is going to be a Spanish derby for the Italian centre-back.
It’s reported Sevilla are already sending over a written offer to Sassuolo.
Betis remain interested, but are currently trailing behind in the race for the 26-year-old.
Ferrari spent last season on loan at Sampdoria.
Previous rumours had linked him with West Ham United and Olympique Marseille.
