After the match the Roma owner called the officiating “a joke”, and in an interview with Sirius XM FC the following day he talked about “interesting non-calls”.

Today UEFA has decided to “suspend the AS Roma official James Pallotta for three months from carrying out his function during UEFA competition matches in which he would otherwise participate”.

The ban starts from the Lupi’s first Champions League game of the coming season and means he “may not be in the technical area or communicate directly or indirectly with the team's players and/or technical staff during the match and may not enter the dressing room or tunnel before or during the match”.

Roma have also been fined €19,000 for blocked stairways, insufficient organisation and the setting off of fireworks.
