Paolo Maldini says Milan are ‘unforgettable’ to him, but ‘there’s still nothing’ about their former defender returning to the club.

Maldini spent his entire playing career with Milan but has yet to take up a position at San Siro since his retirement, having fallen out with Silvio Berlusconi and lacked belief in Li Yonghong’s board.

“I’d like to talk about the present, but we can only remember the past,” he told Huffington Post.

“I’d like to talk about the present, but we can only remember the past,” he told Huffington Post.

“There’s still nothing at the moment and I don’t know what happen. Of course, this doesn’t affect what was my relationship with the club: they’ll always be in my heart and I also believe I will be in the hearts of many fans. The club are unforgettable.

“Leading Milan again? I’m a very pragmatic person: therefore I can’t talk about things that aren’t real right now. It’s useless to imagine things that don’t exist.”
