According to Sky, the 26-year-old will move to San Siro on an initial €6.5m loan deal, with Inter having the option to sign him permanently for a fixed price of €17.5m next summer.

Vrsaljko, who has previously played in Serie A for Sassuolo and Genoa, was heavily involved in Croatia’s recent run to the World Cup final.

And Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the player could even fly to Italy this evening, with a view to completing a medical tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Italian daily also reports that a similar deal is being put in place with Bayern Munich for Chilean Vidal.

It is claimed that the central-midfielder will also join on an initial season-long loan from the German champions.

The entire deal, which includes the loan payment and the agreed fee to sign the 31-year-old outright next summer, is thought to be around €20m.

It is expected that Vidal, formerly of Juventus, will sign a three-year contract with Inter.
