Diego Laxalt’s agent admits the Genoa wingback is ready to ‘take a step forward’ in his career and ‘hopefully he can do that with Napoli’.

Laxalt is expected to leave Genoa this summer, with the Uruguayan now 25 and having impressed at the World Cup in Russia, and Napoli are the latest club to be linked with his talents.

“I’m in Milan and waiting for news, Laxalt is happy with how the World Cup went, now he’s back and his preparation for the new season will begin,” Ariel Krasouski told Radio Crc.

“When he renewed with Genoa, the club promised him an economic improvement too. Laxalt always wants to show his value and improve.

“He’s a professional, and like all professionals he wants to take a step forward. He’s flattered by the interest of other clubs.

“Napoli haven’t requested any information from us. Everything I know about Napoli’s interest is from newspapers.

“They only asked me if I was Laxalt’s agent, but today, during my meeting with Genoa, I’ll find out more.

“How could Diego not be interested by a club like Napoli? We’re talking about a great team, great fans and an excellent Coach.

“I want Laxalt to step up and hopefully he can do that with Napoli.”
