However, Areola is not even in the squad to face Caen, missing out along with Kylian Mbappé, Presnel Kimpembe, Marco Verratti, Layvin Kurzawa and Edinson Cavani.
This means that Buffon only faces competition from Kevin Trapp and therefore starts for his Ligue 1 debut.
