Today is a day of national mourning in Italy, as the State funerals are held for 18 of the victims. Another 20 chose to have private services.

The two clubs from the port city, Genoa and Sampdoria, requested for their Serie A matches to be postponed as a mark of respect.

Samp-Fiorentina will be played on September 19, with Milan-Genoa at San Siro on October 31.

Players from both clubs attended today’s funerals, along with Presidents Massimo Ferrero and Enrico Preziosi, Coaches Marco Giampaolo and Davide Ballardini.

Genoa captain, Domenico Criscito, passed over the bridge just 10 minutes before the collapse.
