Nice have announced that Italian international Mario Balotelli will stay, aiming a swipe at Marseille in the process.
The striker didn’t turn up for the start of pre-season training, though he later did join the squad, with agent Mino Raiola working on a move to l’OM.
Today the Aiglons President said the situation was “complicated”, but tonight it has been announced that Super Mario is staying.
“The decision is made, Mario Balotelli has decided to stay at OGC Nice,” the club announced on Twitter.
“The Italian international has expressed his desire to the Nice directors, there will be a third season of the hit series. The agreement was ratified by all parties on Monday night.
“Suspended for the first three rounds of Ligue 1 the Gym striker, who has 43 goals in red and black since his arrival, will be available again next week for the trip to Lyon.
“Made somewhat complicated at the beginning of the summer by another club in the south of France, the situation is back to normal.
“Simple. Clear. Like a Super Mario strike.”
