Coach Moreno Longo believes Frosinone need time to gel after their 4-0 defeat to Atalanta - “today we had seven new players”.
The Ciociari were battered on their return to Serie A, with Papu Gomez getting two goals and two assists. Click here for a match report.
“That we’ve changed too much is a fact,” Longo told Sky after the match.
“Today we had seven new players and they’re players who arrived at different times because of the play-off, which delayed everything.
“Atalanta were in much better physical condition and also had the right chemistry but we knew it’d be like that. We need time and we need a lot of training sessions, but that’s how Serie A is.
“We have to work to speed up the process of becoming a team, and today chemistry made the difference.
“Three out of the four goals came from our mistakes, we didn’t use the ball nearly well enough. When we were lucid though we held one of the five best teams in the league.
“Atalanta allowed us very little, they kept a very high pace and we weren’t sharp enough on a technical level.”
