Lazio have issued a statement threatening legal action after an angry conversation between Claudio Lotito and Simone Inzaghi went viral.

A YouTube clip of Lotito saw what appeared to be the Lazio President fume at Inzaghi over his attitude and squad, but the club’s official website insists their owner was ‘wrongly interpreted’.

“In reference to the telephone call distributed via the internet by TrediciDicembre (@ivantarsitano) and having confirmed the wrong interpretation of a fraudulently-obtained conversation, lawyers were instructed to identify the author and those who have spread it and go down all civil and criminal avenues against anyone responsible for its circulation,” read the statement.

Aquile spokesman Arturo Diaconale added to RMC Sport: “It’s not acceptable for a private conversation to be filmed and distributed in this way.

“We must defend everyone’s right to privacy: we’ll proceed with the legal route.”
