Christian Abbiati sees Paolo Maldini and Leonardo returning to Milan as “a step forward”, and is open to coming back himself.
The former goalkeeper was team manager last season, acting as a go-between for the players, Coach and club.
He stepped down from the role in the summer, but could now return to the Rossoneri setup.
“The return of Leo and Paolo is already a step forward,” Abbiati told RMC Sport.
“Rino [Gattuso] is a great Coach, last year he got the best from all the players he had available, in the second half of the season he got 40 points.
“I was definitely struck by the return of great champions like Leonardo and Maldini, they were very solid on the market, they knew what they had to do and they did it.
“In September I’ll have a coffee at Casa Milan with Leonardo and Maldini. Let’s see what happens…”
