The Rossoblu began their season with a disappointing home defeat to SPAL, decided by Jasmin Kurtic’s thunderbolt in off the far top corner of the upright.

“We didn’t play badly and didn’t lose intensity either. SPAL have been playing that system for four seasons, whereas we started 3-5-2 a month ago,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We had more scoring opportunities and conceded a goal out of nowhere from Kurtic. We’ll emerge from this difficult moment, I am certain, because the team is working the right way.”

Mattia Destro is back in the squad, but Rodrigo Palacio is ruled out along with Godfred Donsah and suspended Adam Nagy.

“Palacio is an important player for us, but we can beat Frosinone without him. Diego Falcinelli will play, then we’ll see who is with him. Santander is in good shape, while Destro can’t play 90 minutes yet.

“Riccardo Orsolini is a wide player for now, but he could be a support striker too. I liked the defensive performance against SPAL, although we need to be more pro-active.”

Because of Frosinone’s unsporting behaviour in the Serie B promotion play-off with Palermo – throwing extra footballs on to the pitch during the final minutes to halt play – this game will be played behind closed doors at the Stadio Benito Stirpe.

“It’s disappointing and will be strange to see the stands empty, but we must nonetheless put in a strong performance.”

Bologna squad for Frosinone: Da Costa, Santurro, Skorupski; Calabresi, Corbo, Danilo, De Maio, Dijks, Gonzalez, Helander, Mattiello, Mbaye; Dzemaili, Poli, Pulgar, Svanberg; Destro, Falcinelli, Krejci, Okwonkwo, Orsolini, Santander
