“We paid the bill to finish fourth right down to the last penny,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“However, if you go back to last year, we would’ve been happy just to be in this group. It’s essential that Inter are back among those balls, even if it’s a tough group.

“We may have the small advantage that there are no weaker teams, so it’ll be balanced. We absolutely must live up to the others.

“When you want to become a top team, you can’t depend on just one player. With the players we have available, I’d like to mix up my squad so they’re always fresh.

“Radja has qualities that we didn’t have before. He’s aggressive, he has a quick speed of thought and he can give us something, but this team must be strong, even if we’re missing a player.

“I saw a couple of moments when we were careless against Torino, so I opted to recall the players immediately.

“We knew having so many new players and the World Cup could weigh on us, so we’ll have to give the right amounts in order to exploit our potential.

“We must ride this spell without getting lost in the criticism. Concerned about the team’s inability to react? It doesn’t bother me because that’s not the case.

“We know how to react and we also showed it last year. Now we’re working to ensure our level doesn’t drop any further.

“The team must be good at managing emotions and fears. We must be in control, even when things go our way.”

Spalletti also confirmed Yann Karamoh was on his way out of San Siro, with Bordeaux his apparent destination.

“We have to wait, there’s the possibility that he’ll go out on loan to gain experience,” he revealed.

“The club are evaluating the final details.”
