“It’s a sign of unity, of caring about our work, the team and Inter,” Candreva told Sky Sport Italia.

“We built on last week’s first half performance, aware every game in Serie A is tough, and we got a good result to go into the break for international duty.

“We want a strong campaign, this is the first victory, so we can consider this a starting point.

“Obviously, three points are a morale booster and help us to train during the week with more confidence. This is a competitive squad and we all give 100 per cent when called upon.”

Congratulations are also in order, as Candreva celebrated the goal by placing the ball under his shirt, representing his wife’s pregnancy.
