“We have the utmost respect for Genoa, as they are organised, have unpredictable, quick and technically-gifted players.
“It’s a pleasure for me to train Sassuolo, as they are all professionals, yet hungry to keep working and learn something new. We’re trying to keep the competition level up even during training sessions and ensure everyone feels they are involved.”

Berardi has scored in both Serie A rounds so far and earned a call-up to the Italy squad for UEFA Nations League matches against Poland and Portugal.
“He deserves it, for all he’s done in terms of effort and work rate, as well as the goals. With Magnanelli out, he will be the captain. Berardi is no longer a kid, he’s been here a long time and scored almost 50 Serie A goals, so can take the responsibility on his shoulders.
“It’s wrong if people think he has to score 15 goals every season because he did in his first year. I just ask him to enjoy his football and help the team.”
